Dr. Knoles graduated from University of California in 1999 with a primary interest in laboratory research. Using his undergraduate degree in molecular biology, he studied genetics at a prestigious medical school. After spending his free time volunteering at a veterinary hospital, Dr. Knoles made the decisive switch to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Knoles studied veterinary medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 2008. Upon graduation, he returned to California working at a 27-doctor, full-service animal hospital. This opportunity provided Dr. Knoles with invaluable experience in emergency medicine, hospitalized patient management, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. When Dr. Knoles moved to Oregon, a decade later, he spent his time managing orthopedic patients in a general practice. However, after numerous years in the operating room, he decided it was time to refocus his expertise: family practice. Spending time with owners and focusing on their pet’s health, as a whole, is Dr. Knoles primary interest. Providing clients information about various ailments and how best to care for their pet, provides Dr. Knoles with the utmost satisfaction. He believes that his patients will receive the best care when owners are educated and involved in their pet’s health. Dr. Knoles is thrilled to be part of the Bellingham community and is proud to be working with the team at Maplewood Animal Hospit
